The Central Bank of Montenegro, otherwise known as CBCG, has recently entered into a collaborative agreement with Ripple, a renowned provider of enterprise crypto and blockchain solutions. The objective of this partnership is to develop a well-thought-out strategy and pilot program that will enable the launch of Montenegro’s first digital currency, in the form of either a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) or a national stablecoin.
With an alignment to CBCG’s core values, the digital currency’s introduction intends to take digital financial services to a more advanced level, thus enhancing financial inclusivity and accessibility for the country’s citizens.
