The city of Nanjing, located in China’s Jiangsu province, has recently announced the launch of a government-supported metaverse platform. The China Metaverse Technology and Application Innovation Platform aims to drive advancements in the metaverse sector throughout the country, with the Nanjing University of Information and Science Technology (NUIST) leading the initiative. The platform’s founding members, which comprise representatives from academic institutions and metaverse-focused companies across the nation, were also officially disclosed.
